FITNESS CENTER DUMBBELL RACKS
A dumbbell rack is a durable, low maintenance, and often omitted, inexpensive accessory for a fitness center or a school weight room. Unlike single station selectorized strength equipment, like a lat pull down machine or a bicep curl unit that keeps their self contained weight plates neatly stored on their guide rods, safely out of the way, dumbbells are not attached to any weight machine. As a result, they can be, and frequently are, left on the floor where ever they were last used. This introduces an easily avoidable safety hazard into the exercise room. Although fitness center safety has always been important, in this litigious age, weight room safety is more important than ever before.
Dumbbell racks do more than just provide a place to
safely store the dumbbells. Just the presence of the rack in the fitness
center encourages people to return the dumbbells to their proper place, when
they are done with them. This is especially true in high school weight rooms.
This added bit organization gives the room a sense of orderliness and adds
to the overall appearance of the weight room. That sense of neatness, in
turn, subtly encourages people to keep the entire exercise room neat and
clean. Additionally, with the dumbbells on racks, it is easy to notice if
one or two are missing from the lineup
There are many styles of dumbbell racks available,
horizontal two tier racks, horizontal three tier racks, vertical racks and
more. Depending on the layout of your weight room, you may want to consider
two smaller dumbbell racks rather than one long one.
Whatever style you choose, a dumbbell rack is a welcome
addition to any weight room or fitness center that doesn't already have one.
